# Designing the Olympic infrastructure, planned from 2019

Design of the infrastructure for the Rugby World Cup 2023 and the Paris 2024 Olympics, with a build started as early as 2019.

## The problem

Two global events, the Rugby World Cup 2023 and the Paris 2024 Olympics, on an infrastructure that must not fail.

## The constraint

It was our first production run of container orchestration.

## What I did

1. **Starting very early.** In 2019, I launch the build: we move ahead well before the events.
2. **Designing the architecture.** I draw the infrastructure for these two events, and I make the technical choices.
3. **A first production run.** We put container orchestration into production for the first time, after long preparation.
4. **Two events delivered.** The Rugby World Cup 2023, then the Paris 2024 Olympics.

## The result

An infrastructure designed well in advance, for two global events.
