# Saving €1,220 a month on workstations

## The problem

Workstations depended on a heavy directory server that had to be run, protected and repaired.

## The constraint

Users must not lose a minute of service.

## What I did

1. **A simpler workstation.** I switch every workstation to a lighter operating system, managed remotely.
2. **One account.** I replace the old directory with centralised authentication, the same on every workstation.
3. **Central management.** Settings and security are managed in one place, for the whole fleet.
4. **Replaced in minutes.** A broken workstation is replaced in minutes: the user signs in and everything is there.

## The result

Lower costs, less maintenance, centralised security. €1,220 saved every month.
