The problem

Workstations depended on a heavy directory server that had to be run, protected and repaired.

What I did

I switch every workstation to a lighter operating system, managed remotely.

I replace the old directory with centralised authentication, the same on every workstation.

Settings and security are managed in one place, for the whole fleet.

A broken workstation is replaced in minutes: the user signs in and everything is there.
